How does music in games affect you?

Depends on the game. Mostly, I like games with an exceptional soundtrack (Chrono Cross, Guild Wars, Diablo 1, just to name a few). Music is very important for a good experience.

Haha, GTA Music rules. Mainly because it's by (or was by) mainstream artists (at the time). Mostly. Well, Vice City and San Andreas were.

Good music in RPGs is a priority.

Good music in FPSs isn't such a priority, but it still rules.

unreal tournament has some awesome music. facing world's theme is great.

That's probably my favorite one. That or Mechanism 8.

Razorback is also extremely kickass. It makes want to go out, punch somebody in the face, and then insult their mother. Then I'll hop into a Ferrari with a bottle of Captain Morgan and speed around while screaming like a madman before exploding upon contact with a truck and being propelled into a brick wall.

I like Firebreak (called firebr. in the music folder) and Save Me most. Organic are pretty awesome as well.

I think Unreal, the first game, got some cool music too. Not really techno/metal types of music like in Unreal Tournament, more atmospheric music (but it got some techno as well).

I usually eventually turn music off. I love music in my life, but not always in my games. Unless its absolutely amazing stuff. I prefer the sound of nature or whatever in FPS... the sound of the engine in flight sims... etc in my games.

All excellent. I completely forgot about Organic.

Music is what brings my emotions come to live. Without music, I properly woulndt feel anything for games.

I may have said this before, but the Sims 2 has amazingly good music.

The original Sims had better IMO.

Sim City 4 has an excellent soundtrack.

Me too. Take Mafia for instance. It is one of the only games where I've actually felt really sad at the ending, and for me that's mainly because of the music.
