I just have to ask. So many of these new message threads contain such blatant spelling errors, it seems like many users are just trying to type as quickly as possible and not even scan over their post.

A good test that measures your CPM (Characters Per Minute) typed is www.typera. tk. You can convert from CPM to WPM by dividing by 5. The bandwidth for the site isn't enormous, so it might be very slow if everyone slams it at once. I currently hold the #4 all-time record at 759.

Give it your best shot and post your results :)

327 keys per minute, 65 words per minute. I know the average secretary is around 50 wpm.

only 51 wpm, but i only use four fingers heheh, i should learn to type like a normal person.

:( Your score: 205 keys per minute ~ 41 words per minute

This is what I got on my first try:
Your score: 275 keys per minute ~ 55 words per minute
Language/mode: en
Ranking: You've got potential.
Comparison: 47% of registered TyperA users using this language have typed a better result; 53% have a lower or equal result.

You typed: A man walked unbto a bar with his alligator and asked the bartender, Do you serve lawyers here? What do you say to a New Yorker with a job? Mistakes: unbto(into), affecs(affects), nbot(not), if(of)

Well done!
Yay, I've got potential...

Yeah, I suck.

omg hax

yes this is spam!... sue me! Or simply use the repot post feature on the upper right and own me!

I have a very fast WPM, but I haven't tested it in years(have gotten about 10-15 times better since then too). I'm sure that if I was actually able to log into the site I would get pretty high. I type so fast sometimes my friends get annoyed if i'm talking to them on AIM or any other such program, since they can't keep up as well. Heh.

Last time I checked I could do 70-80WPM my aunt can do 100 :-/

I got 'www.typera**** could not be found. Please check the name and try again.'

It uses a tk extension. So it's typera. and then tk.

Ranking: That was fast - you can still improve, though.

Well done!

Maybe I could've done better if I haven't been laughing at "I remmeber when I was a kid I used to come home from Sunday School and my mother would get drunk and try to make pancakes." What the heck. Pancakes? Drunk? Sunday School???

I'm surprised I didn't get more double capitals though (I always type THe) since I usually hold the shift too long.

65 WPM according to the site. I bet I could do faster if I wasn't so tired right now. I don't care anyways, 65 WPM is fast enough for me.

I'm aware of that... the forum just censored what I typed...

You typed: I don't have any water, all I have are ties, replies the salesman, and he heads off into the distance. Then I did the one minute word test. I found it harder since its not as easy as a complete sentence.

It's been a while since I actually tested my typing speed but I can type from 60 to 70 WPM, maybe more.

typera**** didn't load up correctly, not enough bandwidth I suppose, so I took a few others and I'm about 80 WPM.

Too lazy to do this one, but i have an all time high with no errors of 73 WPM, and an average of 46 WPM. Its some typing program i have on my comp.
