Single player was much more varied than part 1, although I'm still unsure as to which one I prefer.

Multiplayer though, no contest, I prefer Halo 1. No that's not a typo, Halo ONE. 2's mp is really good as well but I'm not a big fan of how pussified the shields became. It's basically whoever sees the other guy first gets the kill in close range now, no real skill involved.
 
Multiplayer > Singleplayer pretty much sums it up
 
Co-op alone is worth 9+ in my book :)

(I predict an Edge 7-8 btw)
 
co-op was what made halo fun to play and it worked in the second one as well cause its cool when you can thinnk up sum strategies to kill the next group of baddies with your mate
 
what happens at the end? I never played horugh the SP... I didn't even purcahse it... My brother took me xbox... I went to a freinds house and hooked up 2 xboxes and 2 tvs... total of 8 peoeple, now that is fun... tehy ruined BLOOD GULCH! WTF HAPPENED TO THE OLD ELVLES? 7.0 here... they ruined the vhicles too...

Getting better with more play :)

Everyone's going on about multiplayer, yet I hear little about co-op. This has always been Halo's strongest feature imo - and as good as ever in the sequal.

Stick it on Legendary and curse your way thru the game with a m8 *goddamn f**king snipers!!!* :)
 
i dont like halo... the original that is. it was boring and repetitive and choppy and blech. i didnt care for it.

halo2 is a whole other story. i love it. it is the best console FPS i have ever played. its not worth buying an xjunk for, but it is definitely worth losing sleep over until HL2 comes out. 3-7 friends all playing rocketball on coagulation (blood gulch)?!?! gooood times. it really seems like they fine-tuned the engine as it runs flawlessly. i think the one thing they could've done to improve it, imo, is more co-op levels, and the ability to play more than 2 people co-op. 3-16 person co-op?!?!? what?!?! that would be insanely awesome.

its great, but it will be obsolete in 3 days.
 
i agree, its really fun, but in reality it has nothing that special about it. WTF happened to the ghosts? In halo 1 i loved launching off rocks and stuff, one of my favorite parts of the game. Ill bet money VU had something to do with this...
 
Its way to crowed with all these games being released right now. I dont have time for every single game. I beat halo 2 in 10 hours and I have only played a couple matches of multiplayer but I dont intend to play it much more. Half life 2 is out on Tuesday and I will refocus my time on that. Then WoW is coming out and I might get that also. Halo was one of the best FPS on consoles I have ever played but way to short! Come on I beat the game on 10 hours on normal mode. The ending of the game fealt like hitting a brick wall. The story really starts getting interesting and then you slam into that wall and your like WTF I want to go to the ****ing ark (which is earth). I think I will replay the game once more on heroic and legendary and then be done with it. The multiplayer is great, but Im not going to sit in front of the tv and play multiplayer with my friends just because none of them can afford a computer and play something other then consoles or counterstrike 1.6 for a change. Rainbow 6 was by far the best xbox live experience I have ever had. Halo 2 would come in second. Now I got to wait till halo 3 to see what finally happens with earth. I though halo 2 was going to be about earth but instead it was just a build up to the grand finale halo 3! Halo 2 is just a teaser for halo 3 IMO.

But it is still a great game!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Halo 2 is the 2nd best console shooter evar.
perfect dark will always be the first in my heart.
halo comes 3rd
4th we get Goldeneye!

Ill stop here... Half-life on PS2 didnt feel very right to me
 
I dont know why everyone was all hyped over it for. All it is is smoother graphics. But they graphics are still lacking. Have any of you took the time to look at the ground? The grass has no effect. The grass is flat. All they did was add texture. Compare the graphics to Unreal Tournament 2004. The grass sticks up, and the grass even waves in the wind.

I still bought Halo2, only because all my friends have it, and I didnt want to feel left out. I really didnt want the game. I'm really a PC FPS gamer.

CANT WAIT FOR HALF LIFE 2!

Well the graphics are pretty damn good considering its on a DAMN XBOX!!!!!!!!
 
Co-op is the only reason i like Halo. Because there are not many FPS that offer co-op. If halo didnt have co-op i wouldnt like it at all. It's would be aTypical FPS

co-op was a blast.. the first time..
 
Halo 2 is fun. I was expecting it to not be so great especially after playing the first time and getting really bored during the first level, but it started getting pretty fun.
Especially with co-op. I haven't tried multiplayer with more than 2 people or Xbox Live yet though. I wish I had more gamer geek friends. :(
 
I can't say anything bad about it do to the number of times it made my draw drop. It would just be hypocritical.
 
I thought the game was head and shoulders above Halo. The singleplayer campaign was much better, and they rid the problem of reapeating levels. Nothing beats a good game of co-op in campaign mode. The multiplayer is just flat out fantastic. And for whoever said it, NO the first person to shoot in close combat doesn't always win. There is plenty of skill and strategy involved. Obviously you haven't played enough to become decent at it, and complain because you get killed so often. The stat tracking is insane. I love the experience system they enabled online, it's a great added bonus. Visually the game has never looked better. One of the best games graphically on the Xbox. In my opinion they did just what they needed to, they fixed just about everything that was wrong with Halo with a few goodies thrown in for good measure.

My vote goes for best console fps.

Ya th first time I played halo 2 I though it was a disapointment. But I spoke to soon. It was only the first level, and then it took off from there. I wish I hadnt opened my mouth to soon. The game it amazing.
