I just ordered a new laptop yesterday. I've never had one before but I start Dental School in July. I bought one for school but I tried to add what I thought would make it be good for gaming when I have time. I didn't go with a P4 because the centrino notebooks suit my school needs better. I just know nothing about laptops. It cost me about $3200 not including the mouse and headphones. I was told to get the best I could afford because it would really help with school. Here are the specs:

Hard Drive 60GB 7200rpm Hard Drive

Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional

Display 17 inch UltraSharp™ Wide Screen UXGA Display with TrueLife™

Operating System Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional

Network Card Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem

better than my desktop, exept the cpu speed.

Forgot to mention that price includes lots of extra software, and a four year in home service warrantee with four years of accidental damage insurance.

I've an inspiron 9100 and hl2 runs like a knife on hot butter (ie excellently : ))
no slowdown at all, excellent graphics etc.

yea that will be very good for gaming, and isnt the pentium m's run faster then what they say? wouldnt the 2.0 run like a 3.0ghz? i dunno i thought thats what it is
