OK, someone want to enlighten me as to how he is able to pick the strings? And how does one go about getting that "metal" sound? I can't figure out the settings or anything on how to do that. :O

When he's only using one hand per guitar, he's "hammering", which pretty much means he uses his fingers as if he were playing normally, but hits them hard enough to "ring" on the chosen fret. It's one of those "easy to learn, hard to master" abilities.
