Sorry, no experience with that board.
I hear the SiS 755 is the best A64 chipset at the moment though. You might want to look for a motherboard that has that one.

VIA used to be pretty crapy(pretty early on) But now they are definatly very good

NForce 3's are good mobos, especially the ones with soundstorm.

Yeh soundstorm is an awesome audio codec.

I heard the newer NForces have dropped it?

VIA's are not what they used to be.
Back in the day they used to have compatibility issues with some soundcards and capture cards as well as being somewhat flaky.

They are really different from what they were more than 3-4 years ago.
I've used their boards in many Athlon XP's and Athlon 64 systems for firends and they work and perform great. Infact, previously the Asus K8T800 board was the best board for A64's before the nforce3 250 came out. They are neck and neck now for performance.

I wouldn't hesitate really. I'd go for it. IMO
If you had your heart set on a nForce3 250 for socket 939 you just might have to wait.

I have the board. Let me tell you it's absolutely amazing. You won't be dissapointed. Everything is blazing fast, the bios couldnt be more useful and perfected, and it has every feature but the kitchen sink. DEFINATELY recommended from me, and i own the board.

Haha yeah everytime I give people my system specs (same as yours basiclly)
they are like "wow your so lucky..im not upgrading for a couple months" and I know in a couple months(well maybe not with our rigs) we will be saying damn thats a nice comp!



damn i can barely type anymore i need sleep.

eh..id give it a year before we will actually even give other rigs a second glance. we're at speeds that will keep us in the "in" for a good while. (i hope)
