I am off that day 22nd it comes out right? in the US

yep thats when it comes out, and as far as me knowing when your off, i have no clue

well my dad orderd it then he will send it too me so I be getting it 12days prolly

If I had the money, I would in a heartbeat. Considering school is over and all. However, I am too poor to afford it right now.

Dunno. I'm feeling a little too lazy to catch the bus to the mall. Perhaps i'll see if compusa can put a copy on hold for me, and i'll ask my mom to grab it on her way outa work, since she works right acrosse the street.

I preordered ages ago, will be an in store pickup on the first day for me :)

Ordered online, will get it the day before release.

more than likely will get it friday in the local gamestop.

I preordered it, but I don't think getting it the first day is a great idea...stupid exams. I know if I get it studying goes out the window...Friday i guess

 I am going to go on to EBGames on the first day, hopefully they'll have it.

I have a feeling my mum has pre-ordered it for me. She seems to be doing a lot of nice things for me at the moment...

Oh God! I'm dying! I'm dying, aren't I?

EDIT: That didn't answer the question, did it? I shall get it on release if there are copies. If not, probably after school one day next week.

I have mine preordered with an EB Games right down the street. I might give them a call to see when they expect to get it in. I've heard that some stores are selling it early.

I'll get it pretty soon. Not the first day probably. Demo can tide me over until I do get it.

I need to check my local Gamespot see if they will have it tomorrow, unfortunately in my area most of the shops don't release early.

Same here. Stores don't get games up here until the day AFTER release for the most part claiming that the release date is just the shipping date when people around the country have it already :flame: That's why I was surprised I get BF2 tomorrow.

Back home I got games like at LEAST 1-2 days before official release all the time.

Wow.. A lot of you are lazy fellows ay? Waiting for it to come in from an internet site.. When you can easily go to the store and pick it up in a matter of minutes.. :P

I personally shall be getting the game the first day it comes out..

Preordered, **** the lines.

What lines? I suppose it depends where you live but I've never seen any lines anywhere except for the midnight release for Halo 2.

I hardly ever preorder games online because I can always find a place that will have it retail before it'd be shipped to me.

I asked for it on my brithday (June 26th) so yea...

1. I dont want to go all the way to the mall to go to EBGames and get talked down to by some pimply bitch.
2. My store only gets like 3 copies of every new game.
3. The other store thats the same one i work at a mile or so away only gets like 3 copies.
4. I'm too lazy to wake up.
5. I rather enjoy getting packages in the mail, thanks.

Fair enough. That guys at stores around me aren't douche-know-it-alls so that's nice but the Gamespot store is like a 7 minute walk from my apartment or a 2 minute drive so it's not too big of a deal for me to get there.

Same here.. Before there was this crazy guy that worked at my local Gamespot, and well, lets just say this man loved XBox.. Lets say there is a game that comes out for PC and also XBox.. He would rant about how the XBox game is superiour.. Maybe I'm overexaggerating a bit.. Ask Bryanf445, he knows what guy I am talking about.. Anyway, I just walk in, tell them the game I want, and whammo, I am out of there in a matter of minutes. Thats just how great I am.

Dont have the money to buy it for afew weeks yet.

This game is so close I can... smell it. :)
If not on Wednesday, then Sunday at the latest for me.

I have the money to buy it but i'm not sure if i want to spend that much money on a game that i'm not sold on. The last time i did that was with Far Cry and i'm still not sure if i like the game or not.

Wow, nothing against you but you sure seem set on broadcasting your distaste for BF2. It was normal until I noticed the comment in your sig and how much you're posting in the BF2 sub-forum.

I like the game but i hate the hype. It's ruining the game for me. Hype ruins everything for me. I'll see if i can get changed to Anti-Hype Machine. Hang on a second.

Edit: There, my sig is less offensive and inciting now. And its probably more accurate on what i think of the game. Like i said, i like the game (I even joined in on that server with you about...an hour ago, but some guy kept TKing me for no reason) but i hate the hype.

Christ, how can you stand HL2 then? Talk about hype...

I did like Half-Life 2 but its not the best thing since sliced-bread like alot of people think.Same with BF2 in this case. And a whole bunch of other games....didn't you see that thread i made in General Games?

Besides HL2 and DNF are particularly the reasons i dont like hype. Every game with hype gets blown up and ends up creating impossible expectations due in large part to the rabid fanbase the game generates. It happens with every big release game. Particularly sequels. And this is definately the case with BF2. The first one was great, Vietnam was ok, but this one is just Desert Combat with squads and alot of people are convinced that its revolutionary and completely new when its not. If someone can show me how it is then i'll shut the hell up.

Battlefield 2 = Desert Combat with squads
yep same as
Half-Life = Aliens with a scientist
Far-cry = Wolfenstein in a forest
World of Warcraft = cartoon Diablo online
Command and Conquer = Warcraft with soldiers
Starcraft = command and conquer with Zergs
etc etc

the funny thing is, I loathe Desert Combat... I mean I really hate it.
and I can't stop playing BF2... perhaps it's like DC in that it has the same concept, brings you the same arena of war... but to compare the two games beyond that is ridiculous.

the reason I am commenting, is not because I am offended by your signature.. I have one saying "BF2 is the greatest game I have ever played, Nuff said", so Im not going to be a hypocrate.

it's just..... odd.

anyway you have every right to dislike the game, I (and my buds) will love the holy hell out of it, I see this game entertaining me for a long while to come.

that being said it's a long ways away from being perfect.... but it's such an engaging experience.. so immersive in that everything clicks together (tight controls, awesome sound, brilliant graphics, runs well with everything on high (except 2 things) in 1280x1024, VOIP, the way they handled squads, the balanced kits etc) that I am willing to forgive the couple of shortcomings the game has.

I must say though, there is one revolutionary aspect of BF2, like it or not.. the way they have designed the game to encourage and support teamwork is like no other.

I don't see that as revolutionary, as games like Rainbow Six have done that before. And Splinter Cell with its Co-op and virtually any other game with Co-op. Battlefield 2 just does it better then most of them, and thats nothing revolutionary.

Don't get me wrong, like i've stressed so much in this damn thread, i like the game but i'm just not buying into all this hype. I mean, every game in the last 12 months that has come out has gotten fantastic reviews and tons of different people say its the best game ever made or its the best game of its kind or its revolutionary or blah blah blah blah when all it is, is the same as another game thats come and gone. Or the same as its predecessor. Every single big game. The only game that has come out in the last 10 months that has either lived up to the hype or surpassed it is Resident Evil 4 and Burnout 3. And both those games had relatively little hype surrounding them.

And its not only that, its the double-standards too. You say you loathe DC when you love BF2 and they are virtually the same game, i mean DICE hired the people who made DC to work with them on this game, doesnt that suggest something really obvious?

It just seems to that every game with tons of hype around it is set on getting some of the best reviews and everyone gives into it. It's really ticking me off lately.

If Battlefield 2 had come out earlier i'd bet i wouldn't be thinking this at all. I'm just a whole shitload more cynical now i guess. As you can obviously tell.
