How many of you play Starcraft?

Its teh 3rd greatest game ever created on earth. My friends are all crazy about it and like to roam around battle.net, picking on unsuspecting US server people. :E

In Asia server you have to to intentionally misspell or get called a "yankee" and booted.

In US servers, you have to spell well unless you want to get called "Korean" and banned. :|

In Europe server, you get OMFG lag. Relatively nice people though.

I love the people who think just becuase it takes a while to download a 1-2mb map on 56k that your going to lag ingame. Morons! Well that was years ago, on a better connection now.

I usually play the decent rpg maps. Otherwise I ladder.

I've only ever played starcraft online once, but play offline everynow and then. The guy i did play didn't believe it was the first time i played online as his zealot rushes never worked... But that was all he tried so he can't have been brilliant

I love starcraft, though I have staggered away from the Melee\Tvb\Ladder im now more of a Map Creator\UMS map maker.

Well it just amazes me that Starcraft is still one of the most played games, with perfect balance, and diverse races, and a down right amazing storyline, powerfull easy to use editor(which we have made completely 3rd party editors to extend it all).
I don't think I've seen a game with such diversity and balance.

btw, if you never played online you don't know what your missing. If you played singleplayer you also probably played at "normal" speed...trust me..no one plays at normal and fastest just makes it an overall better experince.

Depends on the map, but yes it is possible. However I tend to rip carriers out of the sky with Hydralisks, Defilers (using Dark Swarm and Plague) and a few lurkers if the protoss thinks some Zealots will deal with the Hydras.

I was hooked on the custom games so long ago. I tried to install it again recently, but it doesn't let me onto the battlenet. It can get on Warcraft 3 just fine though.

I own the starcraft battlechest, this game is kick ass, especially melee games online, Yay SC!

I own all the age of empires + expansions to all of them (1 + 2 + 1 exp + 2 exp) And playing them all, starcraft is still better, sorry its true though..

You make me laugh. Other RTSs are inferior in design. Sure the gfx are outdated, big deal gameplay is what counts and Starcraft has tonnes of it.

With fun gameplay it does come in amounts. Most games nowadays have 1 or 2 fun parts. Starcraft is all around fun.

In terms of Mapping Wc3 takes it all. In terms of balance and gameplay Starcraft does reign supreme out of those 3. In terms of amount of people playing... wc3 and sc are far to close to make a call, but DoW just gets kicked out right there.
But Wc3 and DoW just can't even come close to the balance Starcraft holds. Not that they have a majory unbalance but Starcraft is just by far the most Balanced RTS while still staying extremely diverse.

Starcraft is just well...lets just say..no Developer has ever made a game that has stood the test of time as Starcraft. No mods held it togeather like HL needed. Starcraft hit at the perfect time, with the perfect amount of strategy, balance, diversity, easy to get into...impossible to master, pace, and features. Games like Starcraft don't happen to often...infact..im still trying to figure out one other RTS thats almost 8 years old that still can pull up to 150,000 users.

i used to play it way back when it first came out.
continued to play it 1-2 years after that but eventually got bored or i dunno...my taste in gaming changed a bit.

anyway i don't play it anymore and infact, it hasn't been installed on my PC in over three years now.
