How many stripes are on US flag?

Oh, now that's just silly. Some dude just forgot to unfurl the flags all the way.

That seems rational but you have to understand this administration is anything but rational; they are simply obsessed with back drops. I just find it odd since Republicans passed a bill that doesn't allow flags to be disgraced.

i dont see whats wrong with it. tacky yeah, a little over the top yeah, but i think somebodys grabbing at straws here. mentioning 9/11 so many times is getting irritating as well. its fairly obvious he's trying to pull the sheeples heart-strings... not working too well anymore either.

I wouldn't have figured out that it was a subliminal message if you hadn't mentioned it. Kinda reminds me of the numbers that were on George Bush's firefighter helmet at ground zero. Conspiracy or coincidence?

I'm not a fan of this administration but this is just retarded.

1) Those aren't real flags. Look at both images. They are exactly the same... check the location and shape of the folds/waves.

2) There also aren't enough rows of stars.

3) Comparing the flag images to a real flag (for reference you can just use one of the small, tiled flag images in the middle) shows that those big ones are too long and thin.

So, obviously, the image has been cropped horizontally to fit on the backdrop while still covering the whole panel/screen.

This could be the case, but sometimes its fun to put your tin-foil hat on and look at things a little differently. My only problem is the repbulicans are so obsessed with the flag yet they go and do something like this.

The number was 164 (1 + 6 + 4 = 11).
Also George W. Bush = 11 letters.
New York City = 11 Letters

Afghanistan = 11 Letters

The Pentagon = 11 Letters

But that's trivial compared to this which I found:

Kinda creepy, yet cool.

I got this far

American Airlines number1-800-245-0999

1+8+0+0+2+4+5+0+9+9+9=47 = 11

And stopped readong...am I missing something? 47=11?

4 + 7 = 11.

...but it's all really dumb, anyway.

1-800-245-0999

That's also 11 digits in itself.

I feel I may have hijacked No Limit's thread. Sorry.

1-900-HOT-GIRL is 11 digits, too.

Yeah, this is rather silly. Those sites and things just prove that any random set of numbers at some point or another can be molded into a desired result.

And that flag thing is stretching it somewhat. I mean, he outright said "September the Eleventh" a billion times or so, and had a backdrop of huge american flags while he talked about america.
Do you think he'd really need to go through all that trouble with a vague screen-crop just to make the crowd extra-sympathetic? :p

ALL US numbers are 11 :/

That was kind of the point I was making.

I'm in the 225.

OMFG CREEPY...or not, that is ridiculous, you aren't serious are you?

I have an idea, all 11 of us should get together on 11/11 2009 at 11:11 PM and we kill all killourselves with 11 bottles of rat poison.

There's no question that the attacks were cleverly planned so that the whole 9/11 thing would send a stern message to the US. But yeah, many of those things do seem like pure coincidence.

Regardless, I do find it creepy. :(

I can't believe that "Man o sea" crap.

"Man o sea" doesn't mean shit in spanish. "o" is the spanish word for "or" and "sea" is the third person subjunctive of the verb "to be". So if you want to mix languages, it's "man or is". "Man that is" would be "Man que sea". ...but I think they're assuming "mano" means man, which it doesn't. It means "hand".

Stupid stupid stupid.

By itself the words "o" means "or" in English, "man" is "they man", and "sea" is "be". But when used in a sentence they take on different meanings. "Man o sea" does mean "Man that is" (or so the language translators tell me :E). But when you convert "Man that is" back into Spanish, it now reads "Sirva que es"...

You are correct. In the end, language conversions cause the words to get mixed up and changed to the point where the meanings are lost in translation.

what it all boils down to is that there are too many people with way too much time on their hands

As long as those 11 are the conservatives on this board I'm all for the idea :naughty:

The point of that is subliminal messages. Yes, this might not have been done on purpose but you have to wonder what other reason they have for cropping the flag in that specific way especially after all the outrage coming out of the Republicans about disgracing the flag.

I prefer this one:
George = 6 letters
Walker = 6 letters
Bush Jr. = 6 letters
= 666 :O

Old, but still great...

"Oh no! A terrorist! Better call 911" :p

"Subliminal" means something like "below the threshold of human perception"... so, missing a few stripes on a huge picture of a flag, repeatedly saying "September the Eleventh", and having flags everywhere don't count... as all of them are easily noticeable. The whole idea of a subliminal message is something the end user will never notice (otherwise it would just be a regular message)... but will have a subconscious effect on their thoughts. Also, subliminal messages are a myth. To the best of my knowledge, no valid studies have found any evidence to the contrary. The guy who came up with the idea even admitted it was a hoax.

One last thing: Imagine a 400 pound man with fur-like back hair wearing an American flag thong... that would be disgracing the flag.

1+8+0+0+2+4+5+0+9+9+9=47 = 11

hmm, I havent finised my maths course yet, but Im SURE that 47 isnt equal to 11. oh 4 + 7. M3h coincideces.

God, this is worse than stats. You can make pretty much any number you want out of a word or name. Like the great Douglas Adams said: "no-one writes jokes in Base-13"

It's a picture of a flag.

I've been annoyed with the constant inclusion of 9/11 in everything since 2002.

Only as much as the rest of the Government. The military, and most especially the Honor Guard (Amazingly) seem the most hard core about the flag.

some guy i know burned a flag once, i stood and watched...tried to cry...tired again...didn't work so i went home and got high

This is stupid.

But 9/11 was the best thing that could have happened to Bush so who knows???
