Hi,
I'm starting 24/7 CS server for my friends and I. The parts are still on the way but the specs are, P3 500 MHz, 128 mb pc100, 10 gig hdd (I know a bad pc, but it will run an 8 person private dedicated server well. How many watts in a PS would i need to run this? I'm thinking around 200. I know that this is most likely not possible, but is it possible to find the wattage of your power supply in windows?

Thanks

I have no idea how to find your wattage in windows, but looking at those specs it seems like a 200 watt would be just fine, though you might be able to find a 250 Watt cheeper as they're more common.

You cannot find PSU wattage in Windows, but 200watts will be plenty for that setup. If you want more, just buy one of the cheap-o 400-500 watters, and subtract about 100watts of their rating, since the cheapest ones aren't really what they seem. Either way, a 200watt PSU will be more than enough for that system.

Get a reliable Enermax or Antec PSU!
Watts don't matter as much as how the amps are distributed on the rails (+3.3v/+5/+12).
I looked at a 350 Watt PSU one time and it had 28amps on the +12v rail (the molex connectors that run Harddrives/Optical drives etc) and the 330Watt Antec had a +12v rail at 29amps.
That right there shows ya Watts arn't everything.
The +3.3v rail was higher by a few amps aswell but I don't remember numbers.

Yeah, you can run that off about a 300W, or a 230W tbh, you can get away with running anything upto a XP 1700+ (thats all I've dared to test it with :p )
