To those who care: An Italian study has shown that people when questioned IRL overstate their height (intentionally or not) by an average of ~2.5 cm (~1"). So to get a more accurate overview, just pluck one inch off of everyone's stated height. Since this is the internet, I'd actually make that two, but I'm being conservative.
