How to connect to a server with IP adr??

Newbie...
I want to host a CS Source game, but my friends dont seem to find me in the "find server" tab...
Is there anyway to override that and just type my IP??

connect 123.456.789.0:3572

Type that in console. Change the 123.456.789.0 to the correct IP address and the 3572 to the correct port number.
