Hi, whenever I start up my computer I get the welcome screen and I have to click on the button for the specific user to sign in. This is handy if you have more than one user on the computer, but I'm the only one.

So my question is how do you turn that feature off. I tried going into the users options, but the only option XP gave me was weather I wanted the new login screen or the classic one, didn't allow me to turn it off.

Thanks for any help.

Google and download Tweak UI.

Then once it is installed "Expand the Logon branch, and click Autologon. Turn on the Log on automatically at system startup option, type your username and password, and click Ok." Found Here

I was just about to post a thread about the same topic. After I downloaded service pack one after reformatting my computer the same thing happened. Its stupid because there was only one user. Thanks man that fixed it.

Strange, I've never had this problem and I'm the only user on my computer =S
It just takes me straight to the desktop.

Easy as pie.
Start - Settings - Control Panel - User Accounts - Change the way users log on or off
Uncheck "Use the Welcome screen"

I'm dissapointed in you Asus. Normally you are always the one who has everything right and knows what to do and is the fastest. Heh, read the paragraph below the "Use the Welcome screen".

hehe
I didn't read that.
I had just the first two sentences and edited my post to add that line. Guess I shouldn't have. ;)
