hey i'm trying to figure out the rpm of my harddrive using windows xp. i'm not sure if i got a 7200 or less. can anyone tell me how to figure this out? thanks.
Download everest Home edition here: http://www.lavalys.com/products/download.php?pid=1&lang=en . Then goto the Storage Icon on the main screen, then ATA and choose your drive from teh list at the top and scroll down to teh bottom of the summery where it will tell you the "ATA Device Physical Info". It will tell you speed in RPM there.
Hmm I had a look at all the stuff I could think of in windows, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Not even in device manager or the disk management controls. Everest is a pretty small app and its also really useful for other stuff like checking temps and problem solving as it will give you such a detailed description of everything to do with your pc.
