This can actually be done, though Im sure some of you know already.

First think you need to do is go to http://countermap.counter-strike.net/Nemesis/
and download the GCFScape un-packer
Install GCFScape and start it.

Then in you steam directory
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps
open up each of these file (
source materials, source models, source sounds or just the ones you want) and unpack them to your sourcesdk directory.

D:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\{[email protected]}\sourcesdk\cstrike_sample_content

Note that unpacking here will allow you to use HL2 content in CSS. you can unpack these to other sourcesdk folders for use with other game types, or if you have the knowledge make your own.

Is there any disadvantage to doing this? Any reason I should wait for the real thing?

but guys, you can do it a file at a time, which is good. that's how i do it.

can't you make a D:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\{u [email protected]}\sourcesdk\hl2_sample_content folder and then just config the sdk to point to that? so u can work on cs: s and hl2?
