How to get my XP CD-Key

I'm going to be formatting and reinstalling my Windows XP home soon. Is there any way or program I can use to figure out my CD-key besides calling Microsoft?

I could've sworn I saw some programs for this on this forum, but it was a long time ago.

Isn't it in your registry? I have no clue how to browse the registry, or where to begin looking, but I'm pretty sure it's there.

Also if it says you can't do it just call up Microsoft, and they'll just ask you basic questions like "is it installed on more than 1 machine" and etc...

Mine Cd Key is actually set up right now so I can use it well basically as much as I want. I've actually used it on a friends computer(He had a Dell, and he didn't have his restore cd so I just used my Xp Restore Cd and it's cd key and it worked like a charm lol). I can basically use my Cd Key whenever .

Yeah, they cut me off (I mess with hardware and have to reinstall A LOT).
I just called them up and they activated it for me.
