ok the tut on hl2world isnt very good because its expects you you to know things , so was wondering if anyone has a guide on how to make a working door with pics included and step by step

first time i mapped doors stumped the hell outta me. heres a link and some tips to help you (maybe it will help others):
1. create a brush and make room 512x512x512 if you wish. hollow it out and make walls to 16. now you have a hollowed out cube with no doors nothing.
2. now create another brush 96 tall 64 wide and 32 thick (thickness will depend on your wall thickness (i usually have my walls at 16 so 32 is twice as large as the wall - i will explain why later).
3. move and place the brush onto your cube where you want the door to go making sure the thickness of the door penetrates your cube fully to carve it through (thats why thickness is at 32 vs the wall thickness of 16 change this to fit your needs). with your brush highlighted press "carve" and now you have a doorway.
4. all you need to do is resize your brush to 96x64x4 or whatever size you want to use for a doorway.
5. fit your door into the hole you just carved out. and place it where you want it to go.
6. right click tie to entity in tools or hit ctrl+T, then change it to "func_door" for a simple sliding door that opens left or right depending how your looking at the door.
7. Texture to your hearts content.
8. to do a rotating door, you need to create a hinge. i leave that part up to you and google.
