How can i hear footsteps more louder because when i play with headset i hear them very well but with speakers they are not so loud. I dont sure why is that but everyone say same.
So is there way to actually hear footsteps without making volume to loud because u know i have neighbours.

You up the volume of the speakers.

replace the sound with elephant.wav or something else you can find

Or download a comedy "Clown_Shoe_Walk.wav" off the internet, and replace it with that. Then you'll hear them coming.

I mean, who's ever been silently attacked by a clown, eh? EH?

wouldnt making footsteps louder count as cheating though?
I use footsteps all the time to locate people. Having them louder would make that even easier.

It's a fine line, I suppose. If it makes the sound louder so you can hear it as well as anybody else, then it's fine.

Other sound changes might be considered cheating more. For example, I always am more accurate with the silenced m4 in cs. Unsilenced, I am far more inaccurate. I always seem to get headshots the instant after I've been grenaded and there's no sound. If I replaced the gunshot sounds with much quieter 'pfft' noises, I would definately be a bit better.

The question is how to detect a real cheat from just a balancing sound change, like making footsteps a bit louder to equalize them with what other people hear. An automated cheat-checking system would pick up both as cheats.

For the time being, I would replace the footstep sounds as you see fit, but be prepared for it to be automatically reverted or something when VAC comes online.

Nah it its just wont load tham and will put standart sounds like q3 engine on pure servers so you can play if i remember correct of course if you not replace them totally.

And no i dont want to replace anything i just bit curious why i can hear footsteps and other sounds like water or background sounds very clear and loud with headset, but i never heard them using speakers?
Its something different of volume because with headset you really hear what i never heard withs speakers at any time.

Have someone noticed same?
