how to play a specific soundfile

hi all i'd like to now if there's ia fonction to play a specific sound file in a specific place ? do i have ti use trigger fonction to make it work ?

you can use ambient_generic (entity) to do just that, I believe

you can also set a lmaximum listening radius (visible in the 3d view) as well as the volume

Tip #1: Look at real building pictures or buildings in your town.
 
Only help I can think of for the buildings questions is:

look at building in your street, what kind of deatails do they have that make them more than just a textured box? I'm not saying to have that level of deatail for EVERY building since that would take too long, but think about things like windows, balconies, porches, front gardens, fences, garages, drainpipes, etc.
Are the houses detatched, semi-detatched, or are they all linked together in a big row of tarraced houses? Hopefully this will get the ball rolling and you'lll start thinking of all kinds of details you can add,
