How to play custom made map...?

hi!
true newbie here.
got prob: got a xxxxx.bsp -file (map). How do I play it?
(Where do I put it, how do I start it and so?)

When I double click that file it just runs my regular HL2...

Got SDK installed too.

well if it is a hl2 map put it in the maps file
run hl2 normally
open the console
type map xxxxxx.bsp
