No not for piracy purposes...I doubt anyone wants to see my trip to Rome. However, some friends of mine gave me their copies of their tapes from when we went to rome, burnt on to dvds. I'm not a big fan of dvd's, cd's, tapes, etc. when it comes to my personal pictures and videos, I like to have them on my comp. So how do i go about taking these dvds and putting them on my comp as files to view?

With any programs specialized in that. I myself have "Super DVD Ripper" and it does the job.

DVDShrink is a great app that will allow you to rip all or part of a dvd to your computer. The problem is that it rips .vob files which are huge. You can change the name of the file then to .mpeg or whatever to view them with Media Player or something, but they will still be huge. I don't know of any .vob to .avi converters that are free and have full functionality, but hopefully someone else does and they can let us both know about it. :)
