Yea, the name is quite self explanitory. I want to know how to rip the sound file out of a .flv file, becuase I downloaded the Kazakhstan National Anthem from Youtube and I need to rip it to .mp3.

If it's from Youtube, I would suggest getting Audacity (google it) and just record the audio. I believe you set the source to "what you hear" and it will record whatever audio plays on the computer. Otherwise you'd have to get a program to convert the .flv to whatever (AVI, MPEG etc.), and then open it in a video editing program to extract the audio; this of course is needlessly complex. If it's not on Youtube anymore, just get an .flv player and record it from there. Hope this works.

Google Total Video Converter. It can convert any media file type to any other file type, so you can just import an flv into the program and then change it to an mp3.

You can also select when it should start converting, so if you have a file that's part speech and part song, you can just rip the song right out of it.

Program's on a 15-day trial though.

Yeah, I have Audacity. Alright, I'll try recording. I'll edit when It's finished and it works
EDIT: How do I exactly set the source in Audacity?

EDIT: Trying that Total Video Converter thing DS mentioned.
EDIT: TVC WORKED! Yay! Thanks DS.

Welcome.

It's a handy little thing. I'm considering purchasing it, especially because of Youtube.

Heh. I needed to know that as well.
