Is there a way to softmod a 6600GT? I recall seeing something to mod a 6200 - 6600 on the fallout forums but what about 6600? It'd be cool if someone could post instructions on how to do this assuming it's possible - and are there any risks involved besides it not working? (ie can u funk up ur gfx card like with ocing?)

Thanks for your replys.

I don't know if you can mod the 6600gt to anything else, running it at 6800gt speeds might be alittle too much although I'm not sure. I think teh best thign to do would be to overclock it. You should also wait to see what other people say as I may be wrong.

Its running as fast if not faster clock speeds than a 6800gt anyway isn't it? It's the 128mb of video memory- you cant materialise another 128mb, so i dont know how far you can take it beyond increasing clock speeds.

You can't softmod a 6600GT. The 6600 series use the 6600 chip, which hasn't been cutdown in any way, i.e. no pipelines de-activated etc. Whereas the 6800 for example, has 12 pipelines activated, but actually has 16 on the chip, so it can be possible to unlock these etc...

So the only way of obtaining extra performance with a 6600GT is to overclock the card
