How to tell what brand ram you have?

When a motherboard manufactuer gives a list of supported memory, it means that they have tested those specific modules with the motherboard for compatability. If your RAM is not on the list, chances are it will work. However, some motherboards are known to be picky with what RAM they will accept, so it is wise to search around at some hardware sites and see if anybody is having trouble or you can google.

As for your RAM, the best way I know of is to open up your case and physically look at your RAM. There should be a sticker somewhere on the RAM that should tell you the basic info about your RAM.

Here is a handy chart for your specific motherboard.
