How to turn off blood in CS:S with console command

There is this guy in my clan who's mom won't stop nagging him about turning off the gore in CS:S. Is there a way to turn if off through a console command? Thanks.

this doesn't seem like a common problem, so you might be better off asking on the steampowered forums.

wasn't there a content-control thing in 1.6, it seems it didn't make it to source.

edit: did a bit more searching and found some possible fixes.

#1 - try either of these in the console, if it works put it in the autoexec.cfg or make a script yourself.
cl_lowviolence 1
or
cl_low_violence 1

#2 - enter these into the console, if it works put it in the autoexec.cfg or make a script yourself.
violence_ablood 0
violence_agibs 0
violence_hblood 0
violence_hgibs 0

#3 - turn on the content-control lock in half life 2 than go into cs source and the blood should be gone.

cl_lowviolence does work. It also removes the ragdols, and has an animation of them "giving up". Very cool :E

I couldn't get either of the low-violences to work recently, although they worked when I tried them a few months ago.

If thats the case then he shouldnt have the game, or he's not old enough. Last thing CS needs is more kids screaming. Though its not like there is alot of blood in CS anyway... you could always turn decals off (for no blood splats) and turn off the violence settings for no blood spurts.

goto the config file here...
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\youremail\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg folder
or
C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\youremail\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg folder

then edit these commands where the '1' is replace them with a '0'

cl_show_bloodspray 1
violence_agibs 1
violence_hgibs 1

Are you serious?

Try the far tab under in the option's menu, should disable any "violence" or whatever.
