How well will it run?

I ordered this game and i was wondering what settings i would be able to get and how well it would run?

My specs are:
AMD Athlon 2600+ ~2.1 GHz
1 GB RAM
Radeon 9700 Pro AGP 128MB

It can run HL2 almost on Max but Oblivion is much more graphically intense.

Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing anywhere between Medium - Low settings, with the occasional stutter areas.

Probably not very good.

I have an:

Athlon XP 3000+
2GB Ram
6600gt

The game still can be filled with annoying lag and glitches even at low settings. If you don't mind the game looking horrible you can probably get away with it but personally I shelved the game until I build a new PC.

If you use Oldblivion you can get 10FPS in woods on average with 1024*768, LOD and high res textures turned on.
10FPS really isn't that bad and neither is 7.

Outdoors Oblivion runs pretty horrible on right about every rig. But it's no shooter (certainly not outdoors) so FPS is not that important so it's possible to enjoy the game without a great framerate.

This game is completely backwards, when I set the graphics to Low, it runs like crap. When I set it to High, smooth as butter.

I think you'll find thats the dodgy engine, not the game..technically speaking. Look at HL2's engine and how it runs on pretty much ANY PC, within reason. Agreed its hardly going to run on a 486 but you know what i mean.

Im on a 9800pro with a 3200+ AMD and 1gig RAM, and if i turn the outdoor shadows off completely, i get a very playable framrate outside at medium-high settings with 1024 res. But i do agree, the engine is slightly weird in that respect. Facing facts though, this game anihalates even the top PCs.

I've got a 9800 Pro, gig of RAM and a 2.8Ghz P4 and it runs decently enough.

Funny thing for me though is it runs a lot better outside than inside a lot of the time. Sticks to a smoothish 25-40ish when I'm roaming the outdoors, crawls at around 10-15 when I'm in the middle of the Imperial City market. Still, I wasn't expecting this game to run at all really so I'm happy.

Wow same specs to the tee. Works fine here too.

1024x768. Bloom, 2x AA, Distant land, hi-res textures, all effects at 25-50%. I turned rain and refraction off in the .ini.
