so many issues today, i always find myself think how much time we have left. Cause 1 day, whether u want to believe it or not, we're all gonna die and the world will be uninhabitable. So my question is, how do u think it will all end? nuclear war? seems tensions are growing (korea comes to mind) perhaps we'll pollute it so much causing mass ozone depletion, who know. And also, how long do u figure we'll last? (how long until the beginning of the end)

As for a serious answer.. I'd rather not think about it, I wont be around to see it so don't particularly care, if I started worrying about the end of the world along with everything else to worry about I'd never get any work done and be too afraid to do anything or go anywhere. Life's far too short to worry so much about things that will mor likely than not happen billions of years after we're all dead and buried. The Earth will be swallowed up by an expanding sun and that'll be an end to that, but thats gonna be a long time after I've shuffled off this mortal coil and gone to hell so I'll let the people of that world worry about it while I worry about immediate issues like paying huge debts and making sure work continues to come in

Not that i have a wish for death or even enjoy the thought lol, but honestly, what good does worrying about something u have no control over do? Its like staying up all night worrying about dying in your sleep. If it does happen, i'll worry about it then. Until then, i could care less. I just think its an interesting thing to discuss and speculate on.

i belive myself to be a moral person, its just that the bible is sexist, racist and has many flaws which really no longer apply to modern life.

i am still a beliver in some morals like staying true to a maryed partner and that kinda thing. (unless there are real family problems)

Heh I'm no bible basher, I'm just curious because you state your an aetheist. A lot of peoples morality is drawn from religious teachings, but if you don't subscribe to those ideas directly I'm curious as to whether you acknowledge them in some way indirectly in your day to day.

I'm an athiest to, for several reasons. Why would he make planets and dinosaurs? To mix us up into thinking that there wasn't a god? Why would he allow athiests to live? I thought the whole point of living was to worship him, seems that he is a pretty jealous god considering if you don't worship him then your a horrible person.

Am I a horrible person because I don't worship something that I don't think exists? I try not to mean to people and I try to be generous. I have seen many religous people who are much worse then me.

Anyways, back on subject. The world will be destroyed by either a war or the sun will super nova and destroy earth, but we will have been long gone by then, probably in another galaxy.

It will get bigger and bigger, and 10% hotter every two million years or something....then once it gets big enough (after it engulfs earth...and venus I think) it becomes a white dwarf...and just cools off.

however, it's impossible to prove because these strings are so small that nobody will ever see on in our lifetime.
yet it makes so much sense once you learn about it from a scientific standpoint. it unites Einstein's theories with those of Quantum Mechanics. but it has no proof. you have to believe in this theory to study it.

imo, to discover something in science that is so much like god and religion is too amazing. that through science, we've discovered something that "just has to be right" yet is untestable...wow. science that requires faith. to me that's proof that there is some kind of god...a creator.

i don't really believe in the bible except for some of the moral principles in it. humans too easily twist words to suit their own motives, and the bible has been around too long for it to be entirely true.
