Hey people, how will you play HL2?

I mean, will you rush through the game to get the story? Goggle at everything and take it slowly? Run and gun? Fight with a few tactics (with the new physics and all)?

What are your thoughts?

:p I will soak up the story because if you're not in it for the story it will be an empty experience.

Sneaking around and trying to catch the enemy unawares when I can, but not being afraid to jump out and spread some lead around when I have to.

And listening veeeerrrrry carefully to the story...

I plan to jump right to the end and play it backward momento style. I don't care if it can't be done, that's what i plan to do.

1. Me gets game
2. Me installs game
3. Me opens sdk
4. Me replaces buggy with this car
5. Me runs over combine & head crabs in car.

I think the first couple times im just gonna mess around..Shoot everything mess with the manipulator gun..screw with the rag dolls..and of course all the graphx will be up to the MAX!

I wish they would release some type of new media already...or the damn game!

Nice car phantomdesign.

I'll probably play it on full blood & gore & hack apart all the headcrabs and zombies with a crowbar.

Same way I play every game... run + gun. Stealth and sniping is for fags.

wow.... I bet you will really enjoy the storyline and beautiful leveldesign. Don't you think it's kinda sad to go through the game without absorbing all the great stuff? Maybe I'm wrong but it seems a waste to just run and gun (or maybe you play it again and again in a different way and I should shut up ;) )

Oh no, I will definately pay close attention to the story, just when I come up against some soldiers or bad-ass aliens I will jump out with the biggest, scariest gun I have and blow the absolute shit out of them, rather than this wussy sneaking around in shadows crap some people enjoy.

I will be saving and re-loading my game constantly to figure out the coolest ways of doing things and figuring out all the traps and tricks :-D

I like stealth sometimes, when you HAVE to do it it takes the fun out of it. Actually some of my favorite times going "stealth" was in multiplayer. I remember one time in MOH:AA my entire time was dead and it was me vs 5 other people on the Stalingrad map. I stalked each one down until I was the only one left standing (great part was I knew my whole team was watching).

I think it goes both ways, stealth can be exciting depending on how its used, or it can be boring, same for run and gun type games. I remember the great stealth times I had with the original Thief, and the great run&gun times I had with Serious Sam.

Buy tons of M&M's and then game all night and all week and all year...or??

I'll listen very very carefully to the story, soaking every area I get to... If there's a cool battle I'll quicksave before it and reload again and again and again and again.. And try out cool tricks on enemies... I'll also study every detail (although you get sad if you notice a bad detailed area or an ugly texture , or a bug of some kind...) .. This is how I read through comics , play games, and watch good movies..

I'm gunna play it naked while eating an ice cream sunday

Yeah me too, except I'm going to be eating raw carrots

lol don't eat too many, you'll turn orange! also, write a note to remind yourself when you run out of carrots that your penis is not a carrot.

I'm going to start the game, play through the first level. Quit because I'm bored. Fire up multiplayer, and never look back.

Well, that's pretty boring :) I ALWAYS play through SP before multiplayer.. otherwise, the big guns and stuff don't seem as cool, more climactic when you get them in single player :)

Anyhow, I plan on playing through the game and saving alot, trying things different ways.. like every game! Oh and, since I'm obsessive, I'll try to open every last door in the game

Skittles + M&Ms + York Peppermint Patties + Pepsi

Then install

then take it slowly. I'm a massive sniper, and stealth. I usually try to see how many times I can take out the bad guys before they can react. Mucho fun!

However, depending on the circumstances, I can do some close quarters action. :)

(Best example, was in JK2. 8, yes EIGHT saberist in a giant clump all hacking at eachother, I jumped in and took every one out in about 15 seconds).

i will apologise to every family member, friend i meet regularly and possibly work mates for my absence.

Then play till im asleep at the desk, wake up, take a piss and carry on. I just hope it doesnt finish as quick as alot of the new games have recently. ill swallow this behomoth in one continious gulp. dont stop to admire the view too long guys.

Like a finga pointin to da moon. DONT look at the finga ow youwll miss awwl dat heveanly glowwie. now.......kick me

Slowly, accurately, and skillfully. Mastery will be my first goal. :hmph:

i will look around...and inspect everything...weee...then i cant wait to see the story

First, no matter when it comes out, I WILL NOT PLAY IT until I have upgraded/replaced my computer. When I do play, it will be in the dark with the volume up. And I will try to absorb as much of the game as I can and do as many different things as I can.

I was like that in Max Payne 2, except every door other than the one you have to go through is locked!
