hey all.. my ps2 is currently connected to my tv and i wanna hook it up so that i can record movies of me playing on my computer..

1) can i play on my tv and have my computer record it at the same time?

or do I have to play on my monitor?

Also I have an ATI AIW 9600..what cables will I need to connect my tv to monitor? my card has an S-video port and my TV has one to.. i am thinking just buy an S-video cable or something? thanks.

your card being an aiw should support vivo obv ....im really not sure about connection but you should get the 3 leads going into the scart connecter attached to the vivo cable with 3 appropriate connections.

Ok, I'm an idiot.

No, you can't attach it to you monitor, unless you have a VGA adapter. You have to connect directly to your monitor, not through your computer, so you can't really record the screen.

I used to do it all the time with my GC and XBOX until my GeForce4 Ti 4600 died. I used a little program called iuVCR to display the input from the video card on the monitor while (optionally) recording it.

Also, the AIW 9600 definately has the capability of doing what you want...

I hooked up my PS2 to my monitor a 18nch envision

i was playing GTA san adreas,

i have a AIW 9000pro, 512meg sdram, 1.6ghz cpu.

i put the red yellow white wires from the ps2 to the female adapter that game with my AIW card, its a purple wire, male to femal i set it up then hook up the video in into the back of the card

one thing i notcied is that there is a major drop in qualiity.

i would say 50% drop this is huge. bluriness and what not, it is still managable. but you cannot read small text.

so what is this? why poor quality when hooking up video in?

is it because of the comp? or more because of the wiring because more wireing = less quality.

there was major drop is quality. if on a 32in trinitron tv its 100percent clear, it was like 50-60 percent clear on my monitor. maybe 70% clearness.

Your gfx card isn't exactly top notch....a 9700 AIW Pro would be a better card for what you are doing

Firstly i want to no if i will gain better quality from hooking my ps2 up 2 my fancy LCD screen and Secondly i got a Radeon 9600XT (with DVI, Video out and an RGB connection) and a Samsung 172X LCD (with DVI and RGB connections) how do i connect my PS2 to these

do i need a VGA Box eg the XGA Box or can i just get a cable and go from there
