learn PHP(server side scripting language) and MYSQL (Open Source SQL Database) . although you can use virtually ANY other server side language php(and asp) seem to be the most popular. message me if you need any help. btw you sort of just let that thread in help wanted die .... are you still doing that?
edit: i have nothing against W3 but it isnt exactly nub friendly , if you're just starting out you should hit http://tizag.com it has tuts for php , mysql, javascript and ajax the 4 things that virtually all web startups use today..
