My dad really wants a motorola razr phone, that is pre paid. The problem is i dont know how to buy a barebone razr phone without a sim card for 100.00 give or take 30. I know how to get the pre paid portion just not the phone part? anyone done this before?

So you want to buy a Moto razor, I think you should reconsider. Just take a look here the sixth one.

Ya, Im not going to try to convince my dad to go down another route he doesnt take good care of his stuff and this will just be another waste of his money any real advice?

Look, I know you already said that he would not go down another route but listen I have a Razr phone. Then suck, you can hardly hear the person talk because of a highly underpowered speaker and you can forget seeing the screen when you are around sunlight. It is impossible! Even if you squint and get real close you can not see. The video camera sucks on it also. You can only record about 15 seconds of video then it will stop! But if he wants to get it still that is his choice.

Ya kind of off topic ,but uncyclopedia rocks hilarious 365.

Let me get this straight.

You don't know how to walk into a shop, and buy a phone?

And you want to know if anyone has ever managed to buy a mobile phone before?

BAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...........*sucks in a deep breath of air before continuing*

BAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH.........*oww, my cheeks and stomach hurt*.......

I love this place.

I think he wants to know how to buy a razr phone that doesn't cost $299 without a subscription and can use a pre-paid sim card. Not too hard to understand. Hell, if I knew where to get one, I might look into saving for one.

Well, does your dads old phone have a simcard?

You could just buy a barebones razer and put his simcard into that, as the card has his plan.

The only problem is a barebone razr is incredibly expensive. At the T-Mobile website, a prepaid version of the razr is $249. No thanks.

I have a kid that is probably around your age, judging from your lack of use of punctuation. Here in NZ, you just walk into a shop, and buy a damn phone. No signing anything for a pre-paid one. You said you know where to get a prepaid card, but not a phone.

Let's even pretend you posted clear as day. You want a phone that apparantly cost's at least $249, for no more than $130? Are you mental?

Your original post was still one of the dumbest things I had read. Think before you start typing, and people will be able to take you seriously.

Well don't expect to find a RAZR for $100 bucks or less- new, just for the phone only.

Shasta has a point about the pre-paid thing though. There are no contracts with pre-paid. There are no contracts for just buying ONLY the phone.

Right. The Mods just love to be told what to do by you.

I contribute constructively to most sensible threads, but this one is laughable.

Next time at least come up with something to say, rather than coughing up a tired and over-used attempt at controlling the Mods.

As far as the original question goes, he may be able to pick one up second hand.

If not that, does he perhaps have a handset to trade into a dealer for a discount? That's the only way I can think of getting a fairly new handset for as little as possible.

But if he were as cool as me he'd get a Sony Ericsson w810i. :D

Thanks for all the replies, ill just tell him I dont think its possible to get one for a cheap price. Oh ya Shasta I live in the USA not New Zealand; why should i have to formulate my post to get replies if you didnt like the way I initially inquired about the razr you could either ask me to be clear, or not post. No hard feelings toward you if thats what youre thinking from my response.

hehe at the rokr and slavr
thanks ill keep trying to find another phone that i think will suit his personality

So you didn't "formulate your post to get replies"? Why did you post then? You didn't formulate it to make sense either, now that after a couple of pages we kind-of understand what you meant to say. I didn't ask you to be clear, because what you said seemed clear enough- you didn't know how to buy a pre-pay phone, and wanted to know if anyone had managed this magical feat. How would you even "formulate" your post for someone from NZ? What would be different?

Living in the U.S. is not really an excuse for stupidity, although possibly arrogance.

Look, I don't have any hard feelings for anyone on the net either- it's the damn internet ffs! Who the hell holds a grudge or gets upset over posts on a forum?!!
