I was curious as to how I am setting Battlefield 2 at 1024x768, High Settings (everything) with 4xAA, 16AF, and still getting 50+ FPS with hardly any dips/ I mean, I was guaranteed I wouldn't even be able to set all settings on medium-high with a 6600GT, yet my performance is 2x that of a friend of mine who owns an X800XL. Does 2GB of memory really make a difference? (PS: Specifications are in signature)

Odd...although I admit, I've never tried High settings with my 6600gt.

My computer is technicaly faster than yours and I get the same framerates...I have one gig of ram.

I think I'm gonna buy another stick.

Maybe bf2 just scales back really well? Although i heard otherwise, so i doubt it.
You guys just got supercomputers in disguise by the sounds of it.

Yeh, that RAM is making all the difference, i set mine on High and a couple on Medium with 4x AA and 8xAF, with no dips, but when i chucked everythign on high it would slow down and jump a bit at the start of round, im thinking of chucking another gig in.

Depends on your video settings for your card. You may have it set to best performance rather than best picture. On top of that your in game settings may not be maxed. Even with all of that, I have the game at best performance and I can run it at a constant 50+. my comp being a bit better than yours but you should still be running it near that.

I have a question guys

how to switch between places in a vehicle ?

thanks in advance

F1 - Driver/Pilot's seat
F2 - Gunner
F3 - Gunner2 on Transport choppers, passenger on everything else
F4 on are also passenger seats.

At least I got chicken!

BOT: I have the Nvidia settings to Quality (High Quality actually disables a few features; Nvidia even asked benchmarkers), and a forced 4xAA/16AF. Regardless, this was more or less of a rant (I'm a hardware enthusiast, so I know what I'm doing to say the least) as people think they need the top-of-the line hardware to go 4xAA/16AF, High Settings, etc, but it's really about how well you take care of your computer IMHO (weekly defragmentation, Prime95 stability test, Memtest86+, etc).

I hadn't expected to be able to put 4xAA/16AF, but I was 80% sure I would be able to put the settings (at least textures) on high. I have also been .con editing, and stumbled across Ultra High settings for Battlefield 2. If you set everything to "4" on the Video.con file, it will set it in your options. The only thing is, is that I hadn't seen that much of a difference.

At least I got chicken! <-- lmao =D

Apparently the only difference between high and ultra high is improved bitmapping, so its not worth losing the extra 10fps imo.

I honestly didn't see any difference, be it framerate or visual improvements.

I had enough Im gonna get 512 nxt week will that help also?? could I then put texture on high?? I have 1gig right now!! plz tell me

I can play the game on medium with a few stutters here and there...or I can play on all low at 100% visibility and have no problems.

I'll pick low..the game doesnt' look that much better unless everything is on high.
