I hate it in hl2dm how it takes a hole clip of bullets to kill you and it takes 4 or 5 shots of pistol to the head to die. I reckon it should be more like css how 1 shot to the head kills u instantly seeing as you come back to life striaght away pretty much i dont really think it would annoy people that much.
Also even though its easier for you to die its also easier for you to kill others, and i think it would put more like strategy kinda thing into hl2dm be cause you wont charge people with crowbars as much and you wont run up to people with shotuns and shoot, because unlike now you would be dead before you were in range, you would also see people taking coer insted of just taking the bullets and then looking for a health pack which would make it seem better and more real, kinda like css.
I also think there should be mounted guns someplaces cause they just fun to use. :naughty:
Another thing i reckon Valva should do is kinda like a css type hl2dm where there are rounds and you all start together.
Or maybe you just keep spawning from the same spot one place in the map for combine and the other for rebels, cause then you could wait till lots of your men have died and respawned and then you could all go back into the war, with full health. Im not sure about these ones. What u think? :naughty:

Thanks for reading.

Since when were the shotgun and crowbar such powerhouse weapons that they needed extensive weakening?

I never said they were powerhouse weapons i said people wouldnt run right next to you if they died like in css, and i was giving a example of how sometimes people run right up to me with the shotgun or crowbar and just start shooing/bashin me with it, and this wouldnt happen if it was more realistic because tey would be able to get near you to use the weapons (the shotgun can shoot from far away but has maximum effect when close). thats what i ment i wasnt saying that their power should be decreased you could say im trying to increase their power by lowering the players immunity to getting shot e.g you get shot ONCE in the head and your dead.

It sounds like you should just be playing CS rather than complaining about what HL2 DM doesn't have.

The reason behind everything you've mentioned is simple: because HL2DM isn't CS:S. It isn't meant to be realistic; it isn't meant to be "one shot to the head kills"; it's meant to be a fun and unrealistic game.

Basically what you're saying is you don't want people running up to you beating on you with a crowbar or shooting you with a shotgun.

You know what that sounds to me like? That sounds like since nobody is going to want to get close to anyone else, they're just going to stand back and snipe with weaponry, rather than rush into people and unload. That sounds less like "strategy" and more like "camping."

HL2DM is meant to be fun. It's FUN to run up and smash someone with a stunstick or a crowbar. It's fun to unload your full SMG clip into someone while they're firing back at you. It's not meant to be CS:S where I can take two well-placed shots with the SMG and put a man down. That's Counter-Strike, which is MEANT to be semi-realistic. Half-Life 2 deathmatch has a damage system closer to HL, and you're not supposed to die quickly.

Maybe you should just play CS:S instead of wanting HL2DM to change so that it is just like CS:S ;)

And if you aim right, you kill pretty damn fast with just about any weapon ;) Heck, a panel-oven kills your straight away even if you have 100/200 =)

Making the weapons more powerfull to make people not charge so much just makes the game slower, which IMO is a very bad thing.

I love realistic acting shooters... but even I like hl2dm for what it is

deal with it
