How'd I Do?

Good purchase. It is definetly a mid-line gaming computer. I feel the same about graphics. As long as the game is playable, I really don't care too much for a top of the line card. The CPU will last forever especially since it is a Venice core. That baby runs nice a smooth. Great motherboard. I have heard many awesome things about it. 6600GT is definetly better than a 9800PRO. Overall great purchase. I don't feel like doing the math so can you tell me the total?

Looks like you made good purchases. Not sure how much headroom you will have with teh ram when it comes to overclocking, but I'm sure you will be able to get something. Gfx card is a good one. Will play the games at a decent resolution. Case, heatsink and heatsink fan are also good, and a good choice of hard disc too. Good luck and have fun putting it together :D

Umm, it was around $1,300.00. I don't have the price off hand right now, though. As for overclocking, I'm not going to be overclocking that much, I'll try and squeeze an extra 200MHz, but that's about it.

Good stuff. Although you have a powersupply with a 20pin ATX plug and a motherboard that needs a 24pin ATX plug. The 20pin will fit and you will probably be fine without the extra power on those 4 pins. The reason is those 4pins go to the PCI-Express slot and you have a 6600GT which is lower power. If you upgrade the GFX card though...you will want a different powersupply that has the 24Pin plug.

Well, I rather have a 6600GT and 2GB of memory than a 6800GT and 1GB of memory. I'm don't need extreme details with all eyecandy, I just want a playable game with a smooth FPS.

Nice case selection. I ordered this one for my workstation and holy hell is it huge!

I can't wait till I build my next/new gaming rig. Because right now my workstation is more powerful than my gaming rig in all areas except for the video card. :p

Asus, the 4-pin isn't an adapter, it's a connector that makes it native 24-pin. I read up on it somewhere. Trust me, I was making sure I purchased the correct power supply for the DFI motherboard.

It's not, and i dont trust those adapters

Why else would it be recommended on a DFI forum with official DFI reps. present?
