why does CS:S only come packaged with the miles (aka low quality voice codec) codec?
Gabe Newell said that Hl2 would use a better voice codec than that of HL1's... (and hl1's best is voice_speex)...
so what happened to it?
mind you Im not complaining, Im merely curious.. some servers have assumed that voice_speex was packaged with CS:S and have it setup as default in their configs... this leads to the "I have to hit esc, and re-apply my controls to make my mic function" bug. (at least thats what it seems to come from)
the codec in cs:s is called vaudio_miles, however I double checked and there are no others.
anywhoo.. was just wondering if anyone knew anything.. or I missed something.
also since CS:S is hl2's multiplayer component, and we supposedly have the final versions (non-beta) please please please dont leave any
"lols nub it will come in teh patchez" or "it will come with the release of HL2" statements.
