Huey P. Long's political life is one of the most legendary in American history. Never before or since has one man done so much for his state (be it whether you think it's good or bad, the statement holds true)

His policies are almost impossible to nail down since they vary so wildly, ranging from fascist like ideas to outright communist plans (Share the Wealth Program)

Never before was an administration so corrupt, but simply by definition. The Huey P. Long administration held complete control, but used it to advance all the principals it called for.

Personally, I can't make heads or tails of the guy! A few things he did sound good to me, and then comes programs like the Share The Wealth program that put me off ENTIRELY! Either way, this man still seems incredible to me.

He was assassinated September 8, 1935. According to his sister, Lucille Long Hunt, his last words were: "Don't let me die, I have got so much to do."

Howie Long is the football guy...

From what I hear Huey could have become President one day.

Must of been thinking about another crazy southerner then.

Edit: nevermind it was him:

He positioned himself to run against Roosevelt in the 1936 elections, announcing his bid in August, 1935.

Was saying um no to Pesmerga.

Huey did give FDR a good run for his Presidential spot. Hehe
