These new artsy kids forming groups at school, preaching to there friends what music is cool (in order to be "cool" you have to listen to certain songs that arent popular because that is uncool if alot of people like a song  ) I cant kids who preach all day how they cant stand the preppy types when they are probably just as cliqy.. shit they are worse with there tight sweater turtle necks and Cuffed khaki pants. I see these kids and how they are to each other and I honestly kind-of hope next time they eat an apple there is a razor blade inside it. Today a pretty nice boy asked me if I liked Nirvana.. I hesitated and said yes.. he asked what songs and I said "smells like teen spirit" and he proceeds to mention that i'm part of an ignorant group of "smells like teen spirit" fags who only like Nirvana for that song. I was rather disgusted... it's just the most "out there" song it dosent make one uncool to associate nirvana to a song that pretty much everyone knows does it? He proceeded to write a list of the "unpopular" songs that werent for "fags" that i pocketed and promptly for moral reasons forgot about. I think just because you wear glasses sweaters pocket protectors and preach you like a certain kind of music just beacuse your friends do you deserve to die..(not really it's just hella annoying) just like there preppy equals who mock others for likeing emo/jazz or whatever it may be. I listen to what makes me feel good and i'm so sick of the bullshit at school. If you read my post congradulations you are pretty fucin b0red.

following has caused me stress at school

only knowing stairway to heaven by led zepplin
likeing the "new" modest mouse music which I find catchy and fun
enjoying lots of rap and being teased for that because im white and like to rap in the halls (was singing 2pac)
telling people I dont really know music to well I jus listen to what makes me feel good
likeing elton jon
enjoying Jason Mraz and John Mayer
respecting artists like Usher and other popular posterboys/girls (hell some of em can dance and sing a bit) and to say the least can mc well

I could only read the first 2 sentences of your paragraph before having an Aneurysm. :(

i hate those groups too. my identity is so ****ed up and different i dont mind. my politics/clothes/music/etc is totally different than most other people my age. probably because 99.27% of them are dumbasses.

:naughty: Do your thang, i'm 10% Civilized and 90% h00d. No actually me and my brother use these names when playing online games together. I go as 10% and he goes as 90%.

So yeah, it's just how teens are in high school- high school drama is what it is. It's like a ****in play, a soap opera- nothin but fake mutha ****a's.

As long as you know they're idiots, the World is still safe.

Nothing more to say, people do indeed suck.

Music makes you who you are! [/Idiot]

Having A.D.D. sucks.Paragraphs like mentioned above... :D

From now on I want everyone to title threads like this, the ones about relationship problems, or threads concerning any other things that are wrong with your personal life something easy to notice like "My Life Sucks: <Insert Reason Here>" so we can all avoid them more easily. It's becoming an epidemic. At the very least you could name it something other than a single vague word.

/me slaps self for another "help me" thread
At least you accept responsibility for your actions. That is the first step toward redemption. Now, you must ask the forum gods for forgiveness... and say 10 Hail Munro's. :E

Music makes us real (Ping!) !

There's a reference I bet nobody gets...

Seriously, though, when it comes to music, nobody should tell anyone what to like or dislike. I personally just listen to anything that makes my right leg jig up and down. Mostly turns out to be Eighties stuff.

1. Sadly, that would be me. Sort of. I wouldn't hold it against someone for liking something that was popular, but I can act like a pretentious dickhead sometimes so I know I can come across that way. I don't dislike something on the principle of it being popular, but I can get sick of it - The Darkness are fun but they totally whored out their album, so I'm sort of bored with them, for example. I'm picky, let's put it that way.

2. Let's not forget the ones who fit into that category who think it's "cool" to act like they're terribly depressed and that they have such a hard life when in truth they come from a nice middle class background with fairly reasonable parents. What an awful life they lead :hmph:

3. Very admirable - that's the way people should be. For all the pretentiousness I laid on myself just above, I do generally listen to whatever the hell I want, but there are some albums I wouldn't buy, not on principle exactly but close. Example: I like most of the singles Beyonce has released but I'd never buy her album. Same goes for Justin Timberlake, actually. Perhaps it's partly because I've seen the songs on music channels so many times I've been brainwashed but they are genuinely good songs. They'd go great next to my collection of indie rock "The" bands :)

Honestly though - music is a right, not a privelage and so people ought to listen to whatever the hell pushes their buttons, without worrying what's "cool." I've been to too many clubs where people are too worried about looking cool to dance and have a good time.

4. You forgot the trendy, wacky, out there bisexuals, who're often putting it on. Great quote from Claire from Six Feet Under: "So is she a full time lesbian or just art school bisexual?" Sums it up really. This category often fit in with number 2.

Hah well ive only been critised for liking metallica :p, which is acceptable. I feel lucky

Lemme tell ya.. dont let those other idiots tell you what's cool and what is not.. youre gonna like what you want to like because its what you like and no one should change that simply because they think that its "gay" to like things everyone else does.

See.. i listen to alot of stuff that most people dont listen to.. like Noise Therapy, Trust Company, Deftones.. alot of people only know them by names.. but i think thats pretty cool that most people dont know who they are because that makes me different. I wouldnt criticize someone for liking the more mainstream music that you hear on the radio.. how else are you gonna know what music you like and dont like? Most things i listen to i started hearing a common song on the radio.. a song that pretty much everyone has heard. For instance, Change (in the house of flies) by deftones is played on the radio.. its a great song but its not my fave by them.. listening to all the stuff on the radio pretty much allows you to get an Idea of what you like to hear. If you like all the mainstream songs, thats cool because how else would Stairway to Heaven or Smells like Teen Spirit become a classic/popular?

Forget those kids at school, they dont know what theyre talkin about.. believe me i used to care about what other people thought of me at school and one day youll look back and say why did i care it was just school. Just do it your way man.. whatever makes you happy and if they dont like it.. whats the worst that can happen? So they dont like you..so what. If it isnt one thing they dislike you about itll most certainly be another.. so just forget those people and like what you wanna like.. and being popular is overrated.. not like you get anything out of being popular anyway.

most of the music i listen to isn't popular. but that's not to say i don't like popular music. my favorite bands still are the pumpkins and radiohead. i love coldplay, but there are pop bands i can't stand. i can't see how maroon 5 is so popular. i don't condemn people for listening to popular music. i am very passionate about music. i just wish people would listen to more than what's played on vh1 or mtv, because that isn't the end-all-be-all of good music.

cliques in general suck for the most part.

See, if Cliques were open to anyone, along with included sexual encounters and good times at Lanning parties, I'd be happy.
