I am stuck. How to get out of this place?

hi everyone!

i don't know how to get out of the canal were gordon is trapped. i have played it only for few hours. The level is after the tricky situation were you must use a valve to raise up water level in the underground and it is before you get an air boat. I know the boat from the walkthrough guide.
So In came in the canal with a jump from two woods. the canal is long and your foots are in water. one end has a wall the other a metal grid. grr*
please help!

think its the bit where you go right down and brake some planks and this lets some items flooat up to climb onto and get out the water

It could be the section back track a little bit there will be a hole in the wall leading to floatable barrels.

The jump infront is not the right hieght undernaeth it is a section where u logde the barrels

this means that the ramp raises and the bottom of the ramp meets the water

The canals are tricky first time trough, I was stuck a few hours there I tell ya! Try to go back, look out for holes in the wall, sometimes you have to duck underwater...a screen would help.

yes a screenshot would help because u keep going to back and forth to the airboat which is not even close to where your at yet

Thanks for the help. The first Reply gave me the idea.
I used the noclip cheat to watch the level from above a see the further way.
