the list goes on and on but i didn't want the post to be too big.

that's the compile log I have no idea what I did to break the lighting. I don't know what this error means so I can't really look for the problem. As far as I know I changed nothing. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
 
go easy with the different appearances and colors of the lights in a close, confined space.
 
You have too many lights with different names, or too many lights with different Appearances. Your warning (which is not an error) is informing you that some of these lights had to be deleted. The limit is three different styles; if you have more than three lights with different names or different appearances shining on a face, VRAD will delete some. Try giving them identical names or appearances, or outright delete some yourself.

Thanks, that was the info I needed to fix the problem.

Does that mean that you could hypothetically have three lights at [200 200 200 500], two lights at [150 250 25 650] and one light at [255 0 0 250], all hitting the same face? If there's a total of three different light styles on the face, then there shouldn't be a problem, right?

Assuming all the lights have the same name, it doesn't matter how many differently-colored lights you have in the same place. Now, if you gave the three grey lights one name, the two green lights another name, and the red light a third name, I would say there's probably not a problem.
 
Lights with different colours and brightnesses don't matter. When it says "light styles" its talking about (a) switchablity (having a unque name) and (b) the "Appearance" setting for the light entity (normal, flicker, pulse, strobe, etc.)


So you can have hundreds of lights, each with a different colour, illuminating a single face, as long as they all have the same name or the same "Appearence" property.
 
map making is not my thing. I would really like to learn how. Im not that patient<><>i like ACTION :sniper: :sniper: :sniper:
