Ok, I got a severe problem.

The games run at a very low framerate. The short story:-
One day I am playing games at a gr8 flow with no hiccups. Next day I am going to another country i.e. PC got loaded onto the cargo section of the aircraft where it suffered some damages maybe. I rev up the PC in ther other country & WTF? THE FPS has dropped, I got no idea why.

I checked the following things

- No virus, trojan or spyware i.e. there is NO software problem, I installed new Windows
- I brought a new hard drive, same low FPS
- Changed the monitor, same low FPS
- Checked the graphics card in another PC, works fine on the other one
- Checked the processor, works fine on the other one
- There are NO power problems, so no suggestion concerning the power

Now whats left...
- Motherboard
- RAM

The game being tested is Need for Speed Underground 2

Where LIES the problem? I am trying to find out...PLz HELP

i would say it suffered some severe or minor damage that mabye u could fix easily from the cargo on the plane i guess u really cant tell what the problem is something got knocked lose or broken

You didn't give us your specs.

Anyway, if you have 2 or more sticks of RAM make sure they are both seated correctly. Make sure the fan is spinning on the CPU (also check temps). If your System uses a jumper on the moertherboard to set the FSB and CPU make sure that is on and on the right setting. Jumper might have fallen off.

Go into bios and make sure the settings are correct in case the CMOS got reset.

Dunno otherwise.

Hmm, this is a tricky one. I would try removing one stick of ram, so that you can test them individually, not sure if one stick would cause bad performance but its worth a try. Also, if you can try and get a shot of a mates motherboard, if you can, and test it with your componants. Its pretty clear that you have narrowed down your search for the faulty componant to either the motherboard or teh ram, so thats what I would try and test.
