Every time I open Half-Life 2, I get an error saying: Unable to get IFileSystem interface from filesystem directory. Can anyone help me?

I did that now I get two new errors, one of them is: CResponseSystem::LoadFromBuffer: Unknown entry type P,expecting response, criterion, enumeration or rules in file scripts/talker/response_rules.txt(offset:1). The second one is: The instruction at "0x201643e0" referenced memory at "0x201643e0". The memory could not be "read".

The second error looks like a problem with your virtual memory. Do you know how much space you've got reserved for it? Or how to increase it?

First of all start by posting your stats. A proper guide has been helpfully posted by Beerdude: http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=88149

To check how much Virtual Memory you have, right click your My Computer icon, go to properties, advanced, performance:settings, Advanced tab, and give me the number which is under "total paging file size".

That seems remarkable low. I'd increase this to about 1.5 - 2 times the physical memory that you have.

From the minimal specs you provided, it doesn't appear that you are capable of adequately running Half-Life 2...

You purchase it.

You need to show us your full system specifications before I can make an accurate decision about what you should do.

Start->run->"dxdiag".

That should bring up a window with your system information in.

Copy the appropriate information here according to Beerdude's specifics.

What do you mean see your shortcut. it as got to be: "hl2.exe location\hl2.exe" -steam -game cstrike
-console,I'm confused.

More info please,like where do i make the shortcut? do i make a shorcut called hl2.exe location and put the hl2 icon thingy inside? Need more info
