At least, I think I did.
I installed a new cooler on it (A nVidia 6800 GS, see my previous thread here :p) from Zalman, the V700 Cu. All was well, and the installation went as planned. I closely followed the (non-engrish :p) booklet and put on coolant paste where necesssary. (although not too much so it wouldn't smudge the chip)
Anyways, I installed the card into my computer and when I start it, I get this gigantic beeping noise coming SOMEWHERE from my computer. I thought it was the wrong voltage, so I switched it from 12V to 5V (there are different wires you can switch between). Am I doing something wrong or should I salvage the copper and make an airplane out of it?

I don't understand - what do you think you did wrong then?

Forget it, found the problem; the video card itself was yearning for food. (In other words, I forgot to put the power on the video card itself)
So now we know that video cards squel when they're hungry \0/

Also, my finger hurts like hell because I wanted to check if the fan was activated and it hit it really hard :<

Oh and I messed about with some of the coolant on the chip but I cleaned it, but I guess that just means more coolant eh :p

Yeah, I hate those flashy LED fans too. Just remember in the future try not to touch the lovely colours :p

Fikin lol, that's what I call the battle injury....You should report yourself to the ICU holding up the finger asking for morphine.....doing this --->:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Beerdude I hope you didn't do all this and almost severed your finger while the power plugged in, and the fan was spinning? You could have kill yourself.
