I finally did it! I ordered my comp from alienware...specs are..
Amd 64-fx-55
1gig of corsair extreme ram
160 gb seagate barracuda sata 0
DVD rw
abit av8 motherboard
Ati X800 xt Pe vid card....

heres my worry. When I asked them which platinum edition card I was getting they said I would be getting the BFG version...is this card good or should I be worried?? I thought I should have gotten the ATI version....but I couldn't wait another day..I must have my comp by the time Half Life is out! lol

BFG version. probably a geforce 6800GT or ultra. all are great cards. no need to worry. as of now all these cards a pretty close in hl2 performance.

i bet hes getting a gf 6800 ultra instead. if alienware can't get the xtpe, they'll get one of equal/near power which would be the 6800u

6800 ultra is just as good as x800 xt (maybe not in hl2, but in general it is)

yea bro, it's the x800 xt Platinum edition...the expensive one :/ ummm to answer malfunctions question the machine set me back exactly 3,036 dollars and 0 cents . Yes, im sure it will be worth every penny...the comp im on right now has a 1.6 P4 w/ 256 ram and a GeForce 3 Ti200 vid card LOL! Can you say "I will have LOTS of fun" ROFL! I've been waiting for the day that HL2 would be released!!!
