My website has been hacked again. :(

Whilst this is no problem to deal with, and I can have it up and running again in a few hours by restoring backups, I'm still very angry.

I know the website that these "hackers" meet at, http://www.intikamteam.com/tit/

Is there anything I can do or anyone I can send it to so these little tits are brought to justice? I'm sure what they're doing is illegal in some way.

there's not really anything you can do, and it's better to not do anything anyway because then you'll piss them off and they'll just **** with you more.

Tell me why you?
Have you tried pming munro, this site isn't hacked often so he might have tricks up his sleave.

HAHAHAHAHHA yeah good one, you'd be lucky to get a reply before the internet is phased out for the AWESOMEnet in 40 years

unlucky about the site, though, jangle. see if you can find anything online about greater security, and change your ftp passwords.

Need someone to kill them? I'm more than glad to rid the world of a few more jackasses. Hell, I'll even do it for free.

Munro has a ring of fire and a sharp stick to ward off hackers. That's all he needs.

But seriously Jangle, that sucks. I like your site. I haven't registered in the forums there yet, but will do so at some point.

I suppose. It just angers me so much... Oh well.

I still don't know how they did it... My webhosts keep saying it's never happened before to anybody with them, which is probably a lie, but there doesn't seem to be anything more I can do. My password is super-complicated, and I have checked that my computer can't be detected on the internets...

Did you use URL's like "index.php?page=pagename". There are security risks with things like that.

Also, were you using a CMS like mambo or php-nuke? I guess they can be hacked into easily since they're easily available for free on the net.

Well, the forum software does...Yeah I'm using Simple Machines.

can u have ago at your webhosts, can u get access to access logs of your domain. that will give you clue as to what happens.

when u have found out how they accessed. ( ask ppl to go on the site normally ) and uwill get a range of legitimate connections, with which to compare an iligitamte connection.

google how they accesse.d you will msot liekly be able to prevent it.

your domain host should very much have security itself. see what security they provide. tis obviously them at fault hee

also. if they are bruteforcing your login over a period of time. u can get hold of programs whihc mponitor ip access. after x numbers of access by x ip. it ip bans.

this woud reduce abiltiy to bruteforce your ftp password

uhmmmmm

go for it

It seems I am too smart for their "Mad Skillz". They just posted some javascript in my shoutbox, all I needed to do was disable javascript in my browser and delete it. I feel better now. :D
