right, my water on hl2 works great.. i have a nvidia geforce 5200, and on 1 custom map, the water surface on top didnt appear :S., but underneath it did, what the hell is up with that.

the top surface shows nothing... its just blank

but water on aztec, hl2 is fine
 
It is there, I think it just looks wrong because the map appears to be at fullbright.
 
Looks to me like your using a DX7 water shader, i may be wrong but try using some of the other water textures.
 
it isent something wrong with the map because i made it and it whent fine for me and some friends i sent i to.. So i dont now whats the problem.. Try putting an env_cubemap there..
 
env_cubemaps already there .. and i have dx9 .. lol
theres something wrong here.. and its really annoying , ill have to stick with "cheap water", noo , lol
 
you have a hole in your map, trust me. If you used the displacement tool to morph the terrain you must put a nodraw brush underneath because hammer will render it as if it was a hole in the map.
