I don't understand...

the missles on the 2 seater jets. Just 30 seconds ago we were headed nearly straight down at some tank, i was "locked on him" i fired, and i watched as my missle swerved to the right trying to his this other tank and missed. Dozens of times, i've fired at a "locked on" target and tk'ed a tank. I don't understand how the hell this works! I thought when you were locked on a target the missle would either hit the locked on target or explode trying?!

the missile follows the laser, but can also be affected by the movement of your crosshair- it is actually possible to guide the missile into other aircraft (although it requires a bit of luck too).

Did you move the crosshair, or did the pilot swerve away?

Btw, you have to be locked on after you fire aswell, even if only for a short time.

You probably did not have lock on. You two stages of it, one where the vehicles are marked, and the other when the actual lockon is gained. I think you hear a sound then and the object isn't only marked on the edges, it gets a full square around it. If you are not locked on then the missle is guided by your cursor.
