I failed at life: I got fired from my job

It is official, I failed at life. What I thought would never occur has finally occurred. The person I thought I'd never become I have finally become. And there is no going back.

I was let go from my job a week ago, because my former boss thinks I am dumb. Now, because he thinks I am dumb, I am jobless, paying for my car, and bound to live with my parents once again.

Here's a hint for you all: If a client calls you a fag, just let it go. If the client calls you a retard, also let it go. If he mentions your mother, well, I don't know what you'd all do, but I know what I did, and because of what I did I failed at life :(

It seems likely. I mean, most people would get another job. And who posts about it on a forum they only have twelve posts on? Isn't the whole point of this kind of thread to fish for attention and sympathy from a community that you know and love (a perfectly acceptable thing to do - we all need sympathy sometimes)?

EDIT: I tell you, train as a lifeguard. It's peasy if you're any good at swimming at all. I did it and I'm not sporty at all (a little portly :O). It's a good job and it pays well and there's plenty of demand for it.

Some people in my other thread were calling me knghenry... Am I supposed to take that as a compliment or as an insult? Well, all I know is that I got fired from my job :( Edit: yes, working as a lifeguard sounds good. I am not sure the pay and the job secuirty is very good though.

Come on man, just get another job. It can't be that hard! Christmas is coming, the shops need more workers to exploit!

Look at the lifeguard thing this way: just by getting a Level One Swimming Teacher's certificate (a weekend course, YOU DON'T EVEN NEED TO BE ABLE TO SWIM) you can earn around 8 pounds an hour as a swimming teacher's assistant. Lifeguarding as far as I can see seems to be a better job for part time work and/or 'getting back on your feet'. There's a lot of risk of being sued but if you're not stupid and follow all the rules (write a report on everything, be very careful around crazy children who stick their hands down your shorts) you'll be fine. In some cases you can literally walk into a swimming pool or leasure centre, show them your certificate and say 'hire me'. It really can be that easy, according to my lifeguarding teacher.

Do they really do that? I would be more concerned about ladies in their late tees to early 30's doing that to me... I'd quit my job if that ever happened to me :rolleyes:
 
There have been cases. Kids are weird like that. We were told that in a situation like that you gotta hold your arms up away from your body, hands in the air, make it really obvious that you're not the one doing something or forcing the kid into anything. I actually find the extent of paedo-paranoia in modern society more disturbing than the paedophiles themselves.

I'd put my arms in the air (and step aside).

I can also see why you would be liable for lawsuits. There are a hundred people in your vicinity, each doing a different thing, then all of a sudden one of them sinks in the water and drowns, and it is your fault.
 
Nobody can sue you if kill all their friends and family first!
 
My best friend is a lifeguard and he's really put me off the job since he works at two different pools like 24/7.

So true, at Sainsbury's we aren't allowed to take the hand of a little child to take em to Customer Services, even if they are crying or anything! Such bull that you can't comfort a child

But dude, just look around and you should find a new job easy enough, be it a crap supermarket one, or somewhere decent.

OMG. Go into the bathroom or something so people don't see and if someone drowns while your doing it say you were on break. Either that or if someone saves them kill them both and everyone else that is a witness.

Too true. Often enough, gross and blatant murder is the only solution.
 
Which is quite good, because that's the lowest level, part-time, available at the same age where most people are working in shops or supermarkets for a fiver an hour if they're lucky.
 
I assume their is a lower age limit? If not this would have been very usefull info 3-4 years ago.
 
16+. You do need to take a training course though, and I believe it costs monies.

I lost my job! I've failed! That's it, there's no turning back! It's all over! This is the end! I failed at life! What's that? Get another job? BUT I CAN'T, IT'S TOO LATE FOR ME!
