I've had Starcraft pretty much since it first came out, and I've played the campaign missions, but I used cheats alot, and I didn't pay too much attention to the story line.

Today around noon, I FINALLY beat it, after about 2 weeks, doing about 2 or so missions a day, no cheats or anything! It has a damn good storyline!

It is freaking hard (although I only had to start over a few times in the very last Protoss missions starting from #7 (homeworld). Now I FINALLY moved onto the Brood War missions (same thing, but now I'm playing legit), looking forward to seeing how this unfolds.

I noticed there is a HUGE strategy difference in MP vs SP, in MP you get a million of 1 type of unit, then kill, in SP you need every different unit if your going to survive, kind of weird.

So I finally beat it, moving onto Brood war (I'm at the 3rd mission right now for Protoss, I want to play Zerg so damn bad, I want to use Lurkers!)

Zerg owns everything, BTW.

The hardest mission I think is the last one with the zerg in Broodwar...but you'll get there eventually.

haha, try and get to the secret brood war mission. It'll leave you begging. BEGGING on ur hands and knees for Starcraft 2. 2nd to last mission(Zerg) with at least 5 minutes on the clock

I heard about that, I probably won't even try, some of these missions are hard enough just to complete, let alone get a best time..

Well, lately I've been playing all my RTS's without cheating (I'm kind of impatient, so I always end up using cheats to speed it along, then use them for certain enemies, then it gets out of hand), Age of Empires (which I stopped playing, it's just so damn boring...), I finished a conquer the world campaign in Rise of Nations (only took me 12 turns, went straight for their capitals, then screwed over my ally - Aztecs rule!)

Now Starcraft! Think I'll go for either C&C Tiberian Sun or Red Alert 2 after Brood War.

@sea - I do the same thing, it just pisses me off to put like 2 hours into a game, then lose and restart, so I just cheat.. I made a promise to myself not to cheat in RTS campaigns anymore! It's hard, but so rewarding - I always go for overkill, I had 3 zealots, and he had just a small base left (Command Center, 5-10 SCVs, Barracks, 3 supply depots), but I ended up taking 10 extra minutes to create like 30 Dark Templars, then just wrecked him. I always do that for some reason.. It's instinct to overkill...

Congratulations. But Brood War is harder than the original. I had difficulties with Protoss 8, I'm not telling you anything all I can tell is it is SO HARD. Good luck.

God damn, I'm on Protoss 7 right now..

On mission 7 (where you either kill the Overmind or get the Khalis) I ended up killing the Overmind by sneaking behind it with an Arbiter, and teleporting an army and 4 carriers, fully upgraded right on top of it, it was sweet. Despite having a Zerg base in my control, I only used them as gatherers (they were the only ones with gas things for some reason...), my whole army was Protoss.

Yeah, I always skipped the Overmind, since I always found it easier to cluster **** the cyrstal, and just run something in there and gank it.
