Okay, progressively, the game was getting choppier... and choppier.. and choppier. This was every day slowly worse, no idea how but it was.

Last night it got to the point where every server was unplayable. I had decent framerate though and good ping at around 80-120.

I tried toggling everything in visuals, still did it with stuff turned down. Not framerate at all.

I then happened to change sound from Hardware to Software. I went ingame, and the choppyness was reduced DRAMATICALLY.

It still happens every now and then, but my god it's so much better.

yeah this fixed 90% of my stutter, changing to software sound, sounds about the same too tbh, i still get stutter at the beginning of play:

1)1st time i join the game and the team/squad/class selection screen-stutter
2)1st time i check the score board-stutter
3)1st time i move, ie right after spawn and i change direction-stutter
4)1st time i look down iron sights-stutter
5)1st time i change i change camera angle-stutter
6)1st time i bring up map-stutter

lowering aa to 2 helped aswell. I still get graphical corruption though which i guess is a driver issue, i have 5.6 cats, hope full version is better.

for me it was the exact opposite, it was reall really really stuttery on software and MUCH better on hardware 0_o.

I only get stutter somtimes (lasts about 30 seconds a time), so I'm guessing my settings are already on software. I always put the sound to quite low quality with games that use EAX since it just causes loads of damn problems. Fricken' EAX.

The ones in bold are the ones I get too. It's like in HL when you fire a weapon for the first time - a small stutter. Pretty annoying.

Same with me. What soundcard do you have? I'd get a weird lag-like effect every 3 or 4 seconds while sound was on Software, I changed it to Hardware it runs perfectly.

yeah i only really get numbers 1,2,3 and 6 tbh now after dropping some settings, i dont know if its a ram issue as i have a gig ddr2

I played the demo version many times and no problems.

I will try this out, hope it will fix some of the issues I get sometimes.

Yeah a decent sound card and proper drivers fixes all sound issues. I'm still using a sound blaster live 5.1 with no problems.

I think using hardware-enabled sound only works if you've got a top of the line soundcard, ie Audigy. If your working with a Soundblaster Live budget card like me forget it. Use software sound. In the Readme they give a whole list of compatible cards.

is it just me or is like the server list real slow? like it takes a while to scroll up, and when i click a server it takes a while to load up

The server browser SUCKS! That is universally known. So no, it's not just you.

hehe, the thread title sounds like a slimming ad.

"I lost 500 inches, you can too!"

Hmm I'm getting decent fps but unbelivable lag. IDK what the problem is.

Yeah my sound was on default then I put it on hardware and now its all good.

Punkbuster may be the problem.

Yeah, I think punkbuster might be doing some of the lag. Because sometimes out of no where, I'll lag for a second or two.

Thanks for this, my game seems to run smoother now. (or maybe it was just the server). I played an hour long game, there were still a few pockets of severe lag, but overall it improved. Thanks a lot

Same here.

just wondering if anyone who was getting stutter/choppyness in the demo is getting it still in the full version? anyone? i plan on getting bf2 tomorrow but am worried that the stutter will still be there.

i've tried everything people have suggested, updated mobo, soundcard, network card drivers, videocard drivers-4 different ones including 1 from korea(dont ask) defragged, reinstalled demo, turned off hyper threading, turned off trueform, disabled vpu recover, disabled writes combining, used hardware sound, software sound, dropped settings, still get stutter for atleast 1 round and then its quite smooth, still i haveto put of with atleast 1 round of crazy stutter, very annoying.
