well, 3 questions... 1: are the demo levels actual level from the final game?
2: how kick ass is MP?
3: is the all seeing eye compatible with it?

thanks

1. Yes
2. Very kick ass, think of MoH:AA with everything you ever wanted but wasnt put in. Kill cam is awesome!
3. Yes. :)

Well I played both the demos, and from that only I could say this game is surely excellent.

1.) Yes. :)

2.) YES YES YES.......

YES!

3.) Yes, I think. ? O_o

I played the demo's and thought the game was bad ass. So I went out and bought the game. It has some really good momemnts in it. But I thought the Single Player game was VERY short. THis is like the first game I've bought in about 2 or 3 years so maybe I'm just out of sync with the times. But I thought the single player was a little too short. There are some crazy moments in the single player were you really feel like your're there.

Anyone think they ripped off Enemey at the Gates at the start of the Russian Campaign part?

Yah, the beginning of the Russian Capaign was a shameless rip off Enemy at the Gates, just as the beginning of MoH was a rip off of Saving Private Ryan.

The demo maps are great, but they're probably two of the most boring maps in the game. The rest of the game is a lot more intense.

What is the all seeing eye?

True, but the Russian front is something that hasn't been touched in a WWII game before. You have to admit, that level was awesome regardless.

And the all seeing eye is much like gamespy but without the ads/laggy menus/popups, and other crap.

I think its less of a rip off, and more that both did their research. There are certain correct ways to blend the real events with a cinematic style, so they each end up looking very similar.
The reason they went with Stalingrad is because they needed a setpiece, and something leading up to Red Square, and that was a perfect fit.

i have COD, but haven't played it.. reason? the day i bought it was the same day my speakers started crackling on me... this i found out when i got home and my brother asked me to have a look at the comp and see what was wrong with the sound.. :x

anyway, being very tight budgeted til January, looks like i won't be playing this good game for a while :(

i hope you're saying you have a sound card problem...cause if it's just the speakers, go buy some $10 headphones

ok, MP is soo good that when i went around to my friends house to play it online i got in my car, drove to the shops and bought it.....

ive not played SP yet and ive had it for a week.... mind you i dont think ive played any other game since i bought it.... gawd damit I WANT TO PLAY MY OTHER GAMES!!! CoD IS ANNOYING!!!! :D

eheh it rocks aye ;)

yeah cod ripped off world war 2! HA! those goobers they should have had aliens come down from outer space, made it interesting. actually, they had human models in the game, so they ripped off life in general. they should have come up with their OWN sentient beings on their own created planet. actually no, haha! if they made planets it would be ripping off mans idea of the solar system, which would be unoriginal. thus they would be ripping off more ideas. those bastards!!

CoD is a great game, but single player can be a bit disappointing. You can complete all the SP missions within 6 hours or so of constant game play, making it wayyyy too short in my opinion. Also, what irritates me is you do a mission, and don't see what happens afterwards. For example you sabotage a german Battleship, complete the mission but you dont see it blow up when the mission is done. WTF is that? Same with the Eder dam mission. I WANNA SEE THINGS BLOW UP!!!!

That aside some of the missions are excellent, especially Stalingrad

You don't think it's fair to say the CoD developers might have been a little inspired by Enemy at the Gates? Not to say I disapprove, that mission is great. I always watch movies and think "Man, it would be cool if they made that into a game" and Enemy at the Gates was definitely one of them.

If you don't mind scripting than pick up CoD. I thought the SP was enjoyable the first time. Then I tried the multiplayer... okay, I guess :-/
To CS for me, also I'd expected bigger maps in MP but what the hell.

Imo, this game is like Max Payne 2, great SP but very forgettable.

I beat the game with headphones and that's what I play with. Mainly cause my dad "banned" me (or so I think, im not sure ;-) no honestly) from playing games forever and he would kick the crap out of me if he heard some BANG BANG BOOM in the middle of the night.

i recommend COD for any gamer who likes guns....or even if your sick of WW2....this is definetly worth it...Mp is pretty good...definetly can hold u a little over for hl2

For anyone that wants to take a moment and register at my clan's forum:
http://www.tdr-px.com/forums/index.php

you will find a thread I created in the CoD General forum regarding the history of "Pavlov's House" and other Stalingrad items/photos/etc. Pavlov's House so named because Sgt Pavlov and a handful of Red Army held off the Germans successfully for 59 days. This house/apt complex is still there, in Volgograd, and looks eerily like the one from the game.

If you're a history buff at all, especially for WWII you need to take a look. Lots of links, photos, and commentary from combatants (the female Russian sniper journal is very interesting, for example). Soli
